Ban Krut has its own railway station right in the village, so the direct train from Bangkok's Krung Thep Aphiwat terminal is the way to do it: no transfers, sea glimpses after Hua Hin, and motorcycle taxis waiting at the platform. Book a few days ahead — only three daily trains stop here.

Day trains give you the scenery; the evening departures put you in Ban Krut ready for a beach morning. Second-class air-con seats are comfortable; lower sleeper berths are the prize on late services. Book on the SRT site or 12go.
Buses toward Bang Saphan leave Bangkok's Southern Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) and drop you at the Ban Krut junction on Highway 4, about 10 km from the beach — arrange a pickup or grab a motorcycle taxi from the junction.
A dead-straight run south on Phetkasem Road (AH2). Turn off at km marker 382 and follow the signs 10 km east to the beach. Good roadside coffee stops around Phetchaburi and Prachuap make it an easy drive.
