Seafood restaurants, the famous Café Bankrut, Bayern Himmel and beach bars along the coast road.
Ban Krut has a small but genuine food scene. The best option is always fresh seafood pulled from the Gulf the same day. The famous Platoo Fish Restaurant on the main beach is frequently recommended — all fresh from the sea, properly Thai-spiced. Don't expect European-style dining.

There is no nightlife to speak of in Ban Krut — and that is part of the appeal. The evenings are about cold drinks at beach bars, sunset watching and relaxed meals. A few places stay open late, especially on Thai holiday weekends.

Down at the bridge by the fishing harbour a repainted fishing boat stands on the sand with Water Front Café written across the bow, and the tables run out over the water on wooden decks. This is the other end of the day from Refill: somewhere to sit once the heat has gone out of the afternoon. The signs are painted on old surfboards, which tells you most of what you need to know about the place.
