The short answer: December to April is the sweet spot. The longer answer is that Hua Hin is one of Thailand's most reliably dry corners nearly all year.

Hua Hin sits on the upper Gulf of Thailand, sheltered from the worst of both monsoons, and it shows: the town gets noticeably less rain than most of the country. The dry season runs from December to April, and even the wet months tend to deliver short, sharp showers rather than washed-out days.
The real rain arrives late, concentrated in October and November when the north-east monsoon sweeps the Gulf coast. That leaves the European summer — June to August — as a genuinely good shoulder season: hot, mostly dry, and far quieter than the west-coast islands.

These are the classic months: dry days, a steady sea breeze, and calm water along the long sandy beach. Bangkok weekenders pour in on Fridays and around public holidays, so the night markets buzz and the seafront hotels fill — book ahead for weekends and New Year.
March and April turn properly hot, with afternoons pushing past 33°C. Mornings stay lovely, though: sunrise walks towards Khao Takiab, an early swim, then shade and iced coffee by noon is the local rhythm.

May to September is hot and largely dry, with the occasional dramatic evening thunderstorm that clears as quickly as it arrives. It is a fine time for the beach, the vineyards inland and day trips to Khao Sam Roi Yot's caves and lagoons — with far fewer visitors around.
October and November bring Hua Hin's real wet spell, when the Gulf monsoon finally lands. Even then, mornings are often bright and the rain favours late afternoons. The sea can turn choppy, but the markets, cafés and spas carry on regardless.

Yes — unlike Phuket and the Andaman coast, Hua Hin stays largely dry through the European summer. Expect hot days, brief evening storms and a much quieter beach than in high season.
From roughly December to September the water is generally calm and easy. October and November can bring wind and chop along with the rains.
Weekends year-round, thanks to Bangkok day-trippers, plus the December–February high season, Songkran in April and the New Year holidays. Midweek visits are noticeably calmer.
